2007-06-19
Portugal is one of the 13 countries of the EU that since 2005 continued registering a increase of the CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, opposing the 0,7% reduction registered in 2004 by the group of Member States.
Portugal emited 85,5 million of tons, more 24 millions than in 1990, meaning that the emissions increased more than 40%.
Like Portugal, another 9 countries are outside the route of the Kioto Protocol (Austria, Cipurs, Greece, Italy, and Spain).
